KGV beat Island School in thrilling rugby final

A Grade (U19) Rugby Final: KGV vs IS

The ESF Under 19 Rugby Final proved to be a thrilling contest that see-sawed one way and then the other. Before the match the players were introduced to British Lions coach Ian McGeechan which appeared to inspire Island School in the early exchanges.
 
They looked to be coasting to victory until KGV began a spirited fightback. With the game hanging in the balance, Ed St Paul scored a superb solo try to clinch a third successive final win for KGV. The game, which ended 33-24, was played in a hard-fought but fair manner that was a credit to the players and coaches.
